Work With Me
Looking For Mental Health Support?
About Zoe
In June 2020, had the pleasure of inviting the wonderful Dr. Daryl Appleton, a respected psychologist, to be a guest on my podcast, Solace and the City. During our conversation, Dr. Appleton paused to share something that truly touched me: she believed that my deep passion for mental health, combined with my experience as a podcast host, could make me an exceptional therapist. After the episode concluded, I felt inspired and immediately asked Dr. Appleton if she would consider mentoring me and guiding me through the process of applying to graduate programs in mental health counseling and social work.
Six months later, I was thrilled to receive an acceptance letter from the Columbia School of Social Work, and I gratefully embarked on my journey to become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in September 2022. While studying at Columbia, I had the privilege of working as a crisis counselor for the Crisis Text Line, providing support to individuals facing mental health and suicide crises. I also gained invaluable experience interning at a private practice in New York, where I managed a caseload of 10 clients, helping them navigate a variety of mental health challenges.
In May 2024, I graduated from Columbia University with a Master of Social Work, specializing in Advanced Clinical Practice. I am now licensed to practice as a clinical social worker in both New York (LMSW #124509) and Texas (LMSW #114024).
My background in behavioral health technology sales, podcasting, and my own personal experiences with mental health have given me a unique foundation of empathy and understanding that I bring to my work as a therapist. I am committed to continuous learning, drawing inspiration not only from my colleagues but also from my clients, as I firmly believe in the value of being a lifelong student.
When I’m not podcasting or working as a therapist, you can find me running on the Lady Bird Trail, taking long walks with my beloved dog, Winky, or immersing myself in the practice of yoga. I recently fulfilled a dream by completing my Yoga Teacher Training Certification in Bali, Indonesia, which has further enriched my approach to wellness and mental health.
With kindness,

How I Help
My style is warm, non-judgmental, client-centered, and solutions-focused. My main goal during therapy is to ensure that my clients feel heard, validated, and supported so that they can have the space to make positive changes in their lives. Once a relationship with a foundation of trust is built between myself and a client, we can work together to see past the current crisis and turn our focus towards actionable steps that will solve the problem at hand.
I am a behavioral-oriented therapist, using modalities such as Cognitive-Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I also pull from traditional psychoanalysis and Emotions-Focused Therapy, and I am trained in The Gottman Method for healthy relationships.
